Organic and Biodynamic
The Domaine has been organic, supervised by Ecocert, since 1992. Over the intervening years much natural balance has been restored to both Vines and Terroir with a great deal of interaction between the two. As one vintage has succeeded another, I have been struck first by how much easier it has become to ensure the health of our vines, and secondly, how the wines’ taste and life cycle has improved.
The wish to go even further leads us obviously up the biodynamic path. Rudolf Steiner laid down the principles in 1924, when he said : ‘Biodynamic agriculture ensures the health of the soil and plants so as to produce healthy foodstuffs for animals and human beings. It is based on a deep understanding of the meaning of “living” acquired through a vision of the intrinsic quality of nature’.
We apply the following methods :
- Working the vines and soils according to the lunar calendar.
- Treating the vines with natural preparations enriched in a copper container. (see the photo)
- We use concrete egg shape wine vats for "Saut de côte"

The results are spectacular !
We’ve never before produced such a big bunch of Chenin grapes on such arid soil !
